Patima după Matei stands for the infinite love for nature and the living creatures of this place, for traditions and customs, for faith and hard work. This wine is the sum of them all.
With a straw yellow color, it is a crystalline, fresh and mineral wine that galvanizes the nose with floral notes of elderberry, chamomile and lemongrass, embellished with hints of citrus and quince.
The taste is balanced, and the fruity notes of pear and quince are harmoniously complemented by the mineral ones, all culminating in a pleasant salinity that gives volume and character. Elegant, enveloping and full finish with a long persistence.

The plum aromas specific to the variety, black cherries in an elegant combination of bitter chocolate cream, pipe tobacco and balsamic notes on the almost endless finish, make it one of the reference wines of our winery.
With fairly high acidity, robust tannins and substantial structure, it is a wine that can easily be stored for over 10 years to be enjoyed at the peak of its evolution.

Prince Matei, a terroir wine par excellence, has its roots on the austere terraces and plateaus of two hills: Tegăneanu and Zorilor. The over 40-year-old vines, the clay, gravel, and limestone all bled together into the complex personality, intensity, and finesse of this wine. Its history, spanning more than 20 years, enables us to confidently size up its progress over time. Although the wine becomes incredibly expressive after a simple aeration in the glass, we recommend a 20-30-minute decanting for an even better experience.
